See how independent analysts rate New Zealand's climate policy as highly insufficient
The Climate Action Tracker is an independent scientific project that tracks what governments do about climate change and measures it against the goals of the Paris Agreement. Climate Analytics and NewClimate Institute have run it together since 2009.
It rates each country on its emissions targets, its policies and its climate finance. The New Zealand page covers the 2030 target, the Emissions Trading Scheme, the separate treatment of biogenic methane from agriculture, and the use of forestry and international offsets.
