Climate Resilient Communities Fund
Find out how Northland community groups can apply for climate resilience funding.

This overview covers Northland Regional Council's Water Resilience Fund, set up after the 2019/2020 droughts exposed how many rural communities have no public water supply to fall back on. The fund provided around $500,000 a year for hapū-led water infrastructure.
Through partnerships with community providers, it delivered tanks, pumps, filtration and rainwater collection to vulnerable communities. In 2024 this funding priority moved into the Climate Resilient Communities Fund, continuing the same work under a new name.
